MISSION STATEMENT - Please read first

Outsider Blogging, Intuitive Blogging, or Blogging Brut, is blogging that is outside the boundaries of the official blogosphere or internet culture. Outsider Bloggers are not motivated or inspired by other blogs or websites, but by their own internal vision. Many Outsider Bloggers are institutionalized. Others are simply self-taught and have little contact with dominant blog culture. Many have never used the internet, and still others have never seen a computer. Outsider Bloggers have not experienced, or have experienced and rejected, the dominant blogosphere for a variety of reasons. Some are luddites who fear technological progress is destroying the social fabric. Others are former “VaxGods” thrown through the open door of the SUV of progress and left in the median of the information superhighway.

The purpose of this site is to support Outsider Bloggers and their unique brand of blogging, regardless of when, how, and why they have rejected the dominant blogosphere. By providing a forum for Outsider Bloggers, and a place for them to exhibit their “posts”, this site hopes to promote public understanding and awareness of their blog form. This site does not seek to co-opt Outsider Bloggers or to integrate them into the dominant blogosphere, but rather to nourish their internet rebellion and provide a safe place for their expression.

As you navigate this site, I urge you to keep an open mind. The first experience with Outsider Blogging can be an emotional one. Some of the entries may make you feel bored, or make you think you could have easily created a blog entry as good as or better than the one you are reading. Still others may make you physically ill, or cause you to recoil in horror. Whatever you do, please do not turn away. You may find what you thought was merely an occasion for work avoidance has become an occasion for grace.

Because Outsider Bloggers generally do not have access to "e-mail" in its traditional form, I, the Site Administrator, will be responsible for actually publishing their posts. If you know an Outsider Blogger who would like to use this forum, please contact me, or leave a comment.
