O-Blogger Post #24: Possible dissertation topix???

OK, possible dissertation topixx--

-"All by Myself": Dianne Warwick (is that who sang it????) and the Hermeneutics of Hermits.
(notes - find out who sang that song and if s/he has anything to do with hermits--this is criti cal)

-"As Long As We've Got Each Other"?: Alex P., Mallory, and Capitalism's Triumph Over Romanticism in Popular Culture: 1982-1986.
(notes - check on punctuation. Too many colons? Maybe one could be a semi-colon, or just a comma)

-Dy-No_Mite Jive: Cold War DoubleSpeak in the Media Culture of Color: 1978-1982.
(notes - is phrase "Media Culture of Color" too dated? Think about something more post-racial, perhaps...)

-"This House Has a Remote Control Everything, Ricky!": Men Alone in the Me Decade and the Silver Spoons House as a Giant Queerspace.
(notes - I would love to use the word "McQueerspace." How? It's too bad the Stratton house was an actual, not Mc, Mansion. Was the Full House house a McMansion? Or Small Wonders?)

O-blogger Post #23: ?

“Last Year at Andalusia. ” Parody of “L’ Annee dernier Marienbad” and “Un Chien Andalou” . Attempt to meld Dali and Bunuel’s surrealist masterpiece with atrocious French meditation on time and lack of vitality fails miserably. Having Hailey Joel Osmond play Orson Wells and a dog interferes with Delphine Seyrig’s probing riff on her search for Proust’s lost granddaughter. Only saving grace is Ja Rule’s brief appearance as Nicholas Cage channeling Elastic Lad as day care provider charged with replenishing St. Louis city water supply using plastic trash bags.
